I touched briefly on my dining experience at Osteria Della Vite in my Ciao Roma- Food, Fashion & Fabulous Architecture In The Heart Of Italy post. However, the restaurant was so great I feel as though it deserves it’s own post and full review! Osteria Della Vite was the first restaurant I ate in, in Rome- and I will admit, as a carb addict, my expectations were super high. Needless to say I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest!
I stumbled upon Osteria Della Vite during my first day in Rome in which I went straight from the airport into the city centre. Needless to say, I was in desperate need of great Italian food and they sure ticked that box. I was drawn to Osteria Della Vite under the promise that inside I would find twenty-two pasta dishes on the menu… I couldn’t resist. My expectations were soaring considering I was in the country of carbs and pasta is my all time favourite food, but I didn’t expect for my expectations to be exceeded quite like they were.

After analysing all twenty-two pasta dishes, I settled on ordering Pappardelle Ai Fungi Porcini and was coerced into getting a side of Garlic bread to share. The entire meal was heaven on a plate! As recommended by my taxi driver from the airport, I paired my meal with an Italian wine that was recommended by our server; Vine Caraffa Vino Rosso, which was a classic, dry red wine.

All in all, I 100% recommend Osteria Della Vite. Whilst the food was certainly up there with the best that I had during my trip, it was the comfortable, warm and inviting ambiance that kept me there for much longer than I’d usually stay in a restaurant. The servers were more than helpful when suggesting which wines to try for which meals, as well as recommending other Italian cuisines, wines and restaurants that I ought to try before departing from the city.
